RV Campground Departure Checklist For RVers

A Starting Point for Your Own Motorhome, Travel Trailer or Fifth Wheel.

This RV checklist does not cover every conceivable item and it may list many things you personally would not want. It is meant to be a starting point for your own list.

Add or subtract items from this checklist to suit your own Motorhome, Travel Trailer or Fifth Wheel.

Outside Tasks

Check tire pressure of truck & trailer (__) Check oil and fluid levels in truck (__) Roll up awning (__) Fold up & stow the patio rug (__) Stow chairs, grill, etc. (__) ———————————— Dump black holding tank (__) Rinse black holding tank (if necessary) (__) Dump gray holding tank (__) Disconnect, rinse & stow sewer hose & coupler (__) Unplug trailer & stow power cord, adapters & surge protector (__) Unplug telephone & stow cord (__) ———————————— Disconnect fresh water hose (__) Fill fresh water tank (if necessary) (__) Drain & stow fresh water hose (__) Drain & stow water filters (__) Disconnect, drain & stow utility water hose (__) Turn off propane (__) ———————————— Stow kingpin stabilizer (__) Stow leveling/stabilizing gear (__) Remove & stow wheel chocks (__) Adjust landing gear to proper hitching height (__) Check if hitch receiver is open (__) Drop tailgate (__) Hitch up (__) Check if hitch receiver is closed (__) Pull truck slightly forward to check hitch (__) Raise tailgate (__) hook break-away switch cable (__) Plug in umbilical cord (__) Check trailer lights and brakes (__) Raise landing gear (__) Walk around site to check for forgotten items (__) Pick up and stow the door mat (__) Lock outside compartments (__) Stow entry steps and lock trailer (__) Walk around site one last time (__)

Lower TV antenna (__) Stow appliances (__) Stow pictures and nick knacks (__) Close roof vents (__) Close all windows (__) Secure cabinets, drawers, fridge (__) Furnace turned off (__) Water heater turned off (__) Water pump turned off (__)
